The North Carolina Black Film Festival is proud to recognize the achievements of Wilmington native Anthony Hemingway, past recipient of both our Emerging Filmmaker and Zenith awards.  We urge you to attend the January 20 opening of Red Tails at theaters nationwide.  

The high flying epic feature film is inspired by the heroics of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first all-African-American aerial combat unit to serve in the armed forces.  Executive-produced by George Lucas and directed by Anthony Hemingway, the film boasts a powerful ensemble led by Oscar winner Cuba Gooding, Jr., and Oscar nominee Terrence Howard.
